  • Fixed a memory leak with Kraken tentacles.

Maintenance[]

  • Code cleanup.

2025-9-19 tlopo-pyp-v1.14.0[]

Announcements[]

  • Ahoy! Welcome to the Kraken's Wake expansion, one of, if not, the biggest update to ever hit The Legend of Pirates Online! We have been extremely hard at work to bring this content to ye all, and hope ye all will thoroughly enjoy it! Thank you all for being extremely patient while waiting for the game to open again!
  • As compensation for the extended downtime, we have extended the Triple Materials event to last one more day! (we hope you realize why we decided to run a triple materials event during v1.13.7 - harr harr harr!)
  • In celebration of our TENTH anniversary, double reputation gain and double materials are live until September 26th! (Double Materials will immediately begin after the Triple Materials event ends tomorrow!)
  • To make up for lost bones, lonely Jumbees, and empty Town Halls due to the downtime, we have also extended Hollowed Woods until November 19th!
  • In celebration of TEN YEARS of The Legend of Pirates Online, ye can now redeem the code: CROSSBONES for a free Crossbones Gaucho! (available until September 30th!)
  • And the celebration just keeps on coming! Prepare yer crew for a special Double Loot Day on September 30th!

Features[]

  • New Boss Sailing Event: The Kraken!
    • The terrible beast of Davy Jones, the Kraken, is drawn with ravenous hunger to any unfortunate soul that has their palm stained by the Black Spot!
    • The Kraken will randomly choose to attack any ship that sails with a pirate cursed by the Black Spot.
  • New Story Quest
    • The seas grow restless, and a dark stain covers the palm of any pirate who has stolen from Davy Jones! Seek help from anyone who may be able to help you rid yourself of the curse!
    • The new Story Quest will be automatically added to your journal after completing the Raven's Cove Story Quest and being sunk by the Kraken.
  • New Area: Kraken's Lair
    • The barnacle-encrusted, fishpeople-infested home of the beast herself, the Kraken! Hordes of Davy Jones' men also call the lair their home! Er, home-away-from-menacing-cursed-ship!
  • New Fleet Sailing Event: Kraken Hunters
    • To counteract the threat of the Kraken, the Navy and EITC have begun sending fleets of powerful ships across the sea to vanquish the beast! Sink the escort ships, and board the Ship of the Line to plunder the vast riches carried by these ships! But be warned, where brave souls sail, doom follows closely behind...
  • New Mechanic: Weather
    • With the return of the Kraken upon the sea, and the rise of Jolly's magic, the winds and skies of the Caribbean have grown restless! Storms, cloudy skies, and choppy waves can now be seen across the ocean!
  • Added over 150 new items to the Caribbean!
    • Over 100 of these new items are weapons!
  • There are 14 new enemy types across the Kraken's Lair and the Kraken Hunter Fleets!
  • To fight the Kraken, the Navy and EITC have unveiled 12 new ship enemy types to sail in their Kraken Hunter Fleets! They're truly pulling out all the stops to fight the Kraken!
  • Added a baker's dozen's worth of new brights across the Caribbean! All of them are exclusive to specific locations!
  • In preparation for the many new weapons, clothes, and tattoos being added in this update, the Bankers of the Caribbean have added an extra page across all types of storage! There are now up to 5 pages for pirates to fil with their hard-earned plunder!
  • Introducing: Themes!
    • Ye can now select which background you want to display behind your pirates in the Avatar Chooser when you boot up the game! They are listed in their own tab in the settings page.
    • To launch, we have the classic dock, Kraken's Lair, and the return of our Bilgewater theme from 2022! We plan to add new themes periodically in the future!
    • We've also overhauled all holiday settings! All themes will have custom holiday decorations and effects for Halloween, Winter Festival, and St. Patrick's Day. You can also toggle off any holiday effects in your settings.
  • There are lots of surprises still left that we will not list out in these release notes! Venture out into the game and discover them!

Enhancements - General[]

  • Added new glow shaders to the game to be used in very specific instances! (Can you discover where?)
  • Added Navy Veteran's Bayonet, Officer's Bayonet, and Brigadier's Bayonet to Navy Flagship loot.
  • Lots of little improvements to the Bilgewater Avatar Chooser theme since it was last available in 2022!
  • Under the hood, we've added extensive new quest mechanics and interfaces that will be incredibly useful going forward!

Enhancements - Enemies[]

  • Every random boss in the game (besides creatures, skeletons, and the Crew of the Flying Dutchman) now has their own unique DNA! This means that every time you encounter a random boss, their appearance will be unique and stay the same!
  • All enemy types in the game now have the chance to spawn a new, fifth miniboss.
  • All members of the Crew of the Flying Dutchman now carry Cursed Blades into battle! Some of them ye may not recognize from before...
  • Enemies now disengage when swimming to prevent them from running on water toward you!

Enhancements - Ships[]

  • Captains now have the ability to ban certain players from using repair spots for the duration of the voyage or until the player in question leaves the ship.
    • To do so, captains may go up to a ship repair spot being used by another player and can take it over, much like the ship wheel. Doing so will flag the player in question as banned from using repair spots. Before doing so, the captain will be given a pop-up confirmation box, warning them of the ban's functionality.
  • There is now a 90-second hidden timer that will boot a player from a ship repair spot if they have not completed at least 1 task within that timeframe. However, these players will not be banned and may return to repairing should they wish.
  • Explosives now use the powder keg model instead of the cannonball model, and now have a special flare effect around them. This should make them more unique, and even more visible to players, especially against ships such as EITC Corsairs and Navy Battle-Royales.

Enhancements - User Interface[]

  • In celebration of 10 years of The Legend of Pirates Online, a new TLOPO logo adorns the game! See it in the Avatar Chooser and the options menu!
  • The TLOPO logo now appears on the fancy (blue) loading screen when you enter and exit the game!
  • Added more loading screen hints to the game. This includes hints for the Funesto / Poltergeist updates, the Kraken's Wake expansion, and various other hints too!
  • News pop-up announcements will now only show up the first time you log into the game instead of every time you load a new server or join a lobby.

Bugfixes - General[]

  • Fixed a bug with Jumbee bosses.
  • Fixed a crash with storage chests.
  • Fixed a misc. crash with Ship Repair.
  • Fixed a rare crash with cutting wood in the Ship Repair minigame.
  • Fixed a rare crash with boss nametags.
  • Fixed a rare crash with NPC brushoff text.
  • Fixed a rare district reset with enemies.
  • Fixed a server crash with the Black Pearl Treasure Map.
  • Fixed an engine-related crash with flagships for Mac users.
  • Fixed grenades being able to damage your own ship.

Bugfixes - Quests[]

  • Fixed a bug where brewing at a potion table that wasn't directly on a main island (like in Bernadette's shop or Myrna and May's Wagon) would not count toward potion quest tasks.
  • Fixed a bug where quest task UI would become stuck on the screen if a player used the ESC key to exit a conversation with a quest-giving NPC.
  • Fixed a bug with searchable containers.

Maintenance[]

  • Fixed grammar and formatting for various loading screen hints.
  • Misc. quest typo fixes.
  • Tweaked some strings for some tutorial context pop-ups.
  • WhiteList updates.
  • And, of course... code cleanup!!!

Known Issues[]

  • Some of the lootable tattoos may incorrectly appear as an anchor in your inventory and not load their info card, but they are still properly equippable!
  • Foulberto Smasho is using a sword instead of daggers.

2025-9-1 tlopo-pyp-v1.13.6[]

Announcements[]

  • Welcome to Hollowed Woods 2025, running from September 1st to November 15th!
    • We've added several little quality of life features for this edition of the event! Priorly, we added custom sound effects for Haunted loot drops, and an alternate version of the Windhadow Ostrich Hat in Quest Reward Clothing Vendors.

Features[]

  • (FINALLY!) Added minimaps for Crystal Caverns and Funesto's Forge!

Enhancements[]

  • BOOM BREW.
  • Lowered the skill cooldown for Blade Storm and increased its range just slightly.
  • Swapped out a random boss name that's a duplicate for Ghosts.
  • The /event listing for the TLOPO Anniversary event will now properly indicate that it features Double Loot and Double Materials.

Bugfixes - Funesto & Poltergeists[]

  • Potentially fixed screens freezing caused by Poltergeists spawning. (We will be monitoring to see if this still occurs and will be on the case if it does!)
  • Fixed a bug where Lost Sword of El Patron would not drop from Funesto for pirates who did not complete the Raven's Cove Story Quest. This led to a chest they could not open if it dropped a legendary.
  • Fixed and adjusted various collisions/barriers across Funesto's Forge.

Bugfixes - General[]

  • Fixed a bug where lighting in the Avatar Chooser would sometimes be too dark.
  • Fixed a bug where players were unable to pick up holiday quests like Hollowed Woods.
  • Fixed a bug where players who did no damage (healing/mojo/attunement voodoo doll users) did not get loot but got loot credit.
  • Fixed a bug where some animations would be frozen when the Crowd Optimization setting was enabled and the player was in a large crowd.
  • Fixed a bug where some spirit doll skills would not count as "healing" skills and thus would not give kill credit. This is now fixed for Wellspring, Vampiric Leach, and Resolve.
  • Fixed a bug where the sound effect of a body falling to the ground was way too loud.
  • Fixed a bug where the Treasure Fleets option in the Sailing Events lobby would not display.
  • Fixed a crash with animation mixing.
  • Fixed a memory leak with the server list.
  • Fixed a recently introduced bug where a small handful of NPCs (such as those on Tortuga docks) were scaled to be a bit too tall.
  • Fixed a typo with the name of a Ghost miniboss.
  • Fixed visual bugs with two sea globe sailing item models.
  • Potentially fixed an effects leak that sometimes caused the entire screen to glow and make all our eyes hurt! (Ow!)

Bugfixes - User Interface[]

  • Fixed a bug where the checkbox for the Crowd Optimization setting in the options panel was too far to the right.
  • Fixed a bug where the Muertos Moon event icon in the server list would not turn off after the event ended.
  • Fixed a bug where tooltips in the server list were not aligning properly when viewed in the Avatar Chooser.

Maintenance[]

  • Adjusted holiday dates for this fall!
  • Code cleanup.
  • WhiteList updates.

Known Issues[]

  • Music may not properly play in Hollowed Woods or Crystal Caverns unless you enter and exit combat or open your sound settings menu.
  • Lobby maps or options that are locked by quest requirement will sometimes display the wrong title to players who are not the lobby host.
  • Permanent Jumbee bosses (other than Captain Windshadow) use the names of minibosses on their health bar and in voodoo attune lists instead of their correct names.

August[]

2025-8-20 tlopo-pyp-v1.13.5[]

Bugfixes[]

  • Emergency fix for the recent server crashes.

July[]

2025-7-25 tlopo-pyp-v1.13.4[]

Features[]

  • Added three new dyes to Tailor shops: Light Orange, Orange, and Dark Orange. These have also been added to loot, as that is the case for all Tailor shop dyes. Along with this, the UI for the dyes has been adjusted to allow for 8 columns of dyes to be visible at once.
  • Added new "Crowd Optimization" settings option which will apply:
    • Reduced effects (does not apply to effects created by your own player pirate)
    • Reduced water animations
    • Disable NPC notice system + notice system collisions
    • Reduced animation mixing for other pirates
    • This setting is turned on by default for all players and only kicks in if there are 30+ players loaded into the same area simultaneous. We appreciate your feedback!

Enhancements[]

  • Changed the names of some dyes in the Tailor Shop to be unified under one naming convention. Previously there were two Light Greens in the Tailor shop for example!
  • Swapped the positions of Brown and Light Brown in the code. This means that any Brown or Light Brown clothes owned by players will have their dye colors swapped. We apologize for the inconvenience. To compensate for this, we are giving out a redeem code: "veryverysorry"
  • Changed the names of various dyes, including some that were previously thought to be the same as tailor shop dyes. Happy hunting!
  • Adjusted the colors of Electric Blue and Bright Purple per Player Feedback on the Test Server. These were the only two dyes that changed, all others remain the same.
  • Adjusted the Electric Blue Hair Color in the Bilgewater barber shop to match the new Electric Blue dye color.

Bugfixes[]

  • Fixed a bug where party hats would not drop occasionally.
  • Fixed a crash when joining a lobby with a code.
  • Fixed a crash with ship collisions.
  • Fixed a GUI-related crash on logout.
  • Fixed a major GUI memory leak that happened whenever other players were generated around you.
  • Fixed a server crash with daily quest refreshing.
  • Fixed GUI memory leaks with the player profile card.
  • Fixed small memory leaks with player state transitions.
  • Potentially fixed a crash that happened when rolling dice in Liar's Dice.

Maintenance[]

  • Code cleanup and optimization.

Known Issues[]

  • Players may experience minor animation glitches with Crowd Optimization where an animation gets stuck until the player does some other action.
  • The checkbox for the new Crowd Optimization setting is spaced too far to the right.
  • The draw distance on islands may become messed up when loading back into the main world from a PvP match or other lobby mode. Logging out then back in should fix this.

2025-7-16 tlopo-pyp-v1.13.3[]

Bugfixes[]

  • Fixed a crash with shadows that affected the Titan's Curse skill and various other aspects of the game.
  • Fixed a crash with ships.
  • Fixed memory leaks with Lobby UI.

2025-7-15 tlopo-pyp-v1.13.2[]

Features[]

  • Added new combat music to Funesto's Forge.
  • Added some small quality-of-life features to Lobby UI.
    • In addition to the dropdown menu, you can now page through the different available maps using arrows to the left and right of the map info section.
    • If the lobby mode has 9 or greater map options, the dropdown menu will be hidden, since the list would cut off the screen. The new arrows will still be available to page through.
    • Description text of a locked lobby mode will now tell you what quest you have to complete to unlock the mode.
  • Reworked Server List panel with various quality of life features.
    • If you hover over a server event icon, it will now display a tooltip telling you what the icon means (e.g. Port Royal Invasion, EITC Treasure Fleet, etc).
    • If there are many event icons visible at the same time, the name of the server will now dynamically shrink so the icons don't clip on top of it.
    • If you hover over the blue/green/red server icon next to the population number, it will now say "Quiet," "Ideal," or "Full," harkening back to how the old POTCO server list worked.
    • Lots of back-end improvements that will make it easier for us to adjust this UI panel in the future.
    • Changed the Queen Anne's Revenge pop-up and server icon to match the skull on the world map.
    • Muertos Moon events now have a server icon present when active.
    • The Invasion event icon now has a glow effect so it's better visible.

Enhancements/Bugfixes - Lieutenant Funesto & Poltergeists[]

  • Buffed Lieutenant Funesto's health based on player feedback.
  • Fixed a bug where Lieutenant Funesto would drop rare weapons.
  • Fixed various misc. crashes with Lieutenant Funesto.
  • Overhauled how Poltergeists spawn so they are more frequent.

Enhancements - General[]

  • Added a new tattoo design as a reward early on in Chapter 3: The Black Pearl. Players who already completed the quest can pick it up at a Tattoo Quest Rewards Vendor.
  • Quest tasks that award a tattoo will now have a preview of the design visible in the quest journal.
  • Modified feather position of Captain Windshadow's Ostrich Hat for male pirates based on player feedback.
    • Added a new male-pirate Windshadow Ostrich Hat that maintains the feather position that it previously had. It is available exclusively to the Quest Reward Vendor for clothing upon completing the Storms in Hollowed Woods quest.
  • Muertos Moon announcements now have a custom icon.
  • The Threat Level/"Scoundrel of the Seas" flags that appear next to ship health now display a tooltip explaining what each threat tier does when hovered over with the cursor.
  • Tweaked reputation values for various fish. This is to make fishing less of a grind to go through and to balance individual fish experience given relative to their individual traits.

Bugfixes[]

  • Adjusted collisions and fixed various bugs with the Shipwright building model.
  • Fixed a bug where ghost effects on Game Masters would not load properly for players who walked into a zone where a Game Master was standing.
  • Fixed a bug where players would be pushed to the side slightly as they walked into Misty Mire.
  • Fixed a bug where the back arrows in the Collections panel would not light up when hovered over by the mouse.
  • Fixed a bug where the description text of a locked lobby mode would not darken with the mode title text.
  • Fixed a bug where the yellow tutorial arrow would sometimes disappear on location transition or after swimming.
  • Fixed a bug with loot duplicate reduction that prevented some loot drops from being openable.
  • Fixed a crash when teleporting off a ship.
  • Fixed a crash with Blackjack.
  • Fixed a crash with minigames.
  • Fixed a crash with Muertos Moon.
  • Fixed a crash with shaders.
  • Fixed a crash with the Ship of the Line.
  • Fixed a crash with weapon skills and combat.
  • Fixed a rare server crash when kicking a crew member.
  • Fixed a server crash with loot.
  • Fixed a visual bug where the red background in the lobby UI would bleed outside of the Sea Chest UI frame.
  • Fixed AI server memory leaks with lobby crews, npcs, enemy spawners.
  • Fixed several massive memory leaks with ships.
  • Fixed some props in Wildwoods (and Original Wildwoods!) that were underground.
  • Fixed the Muertos Moon 10-minute warning pop-up.
  • Potentially fixed Muertos Moon only occurring once per day during the event.
  • Removed a torch that was in the middle of a path/ramp into the swampy area of Tortuga.

Maintenance[]

  • Significant client performance improvement. Previously, artificial limits were placed on the GPU memory usage based on texture-scale which is set by low/med/high settings:
    • Low: 32MB, Med: 64MB, High: 128MB
    • This caused the CPU to constantly reload textures/vertex data back onto the GPU which was most noticeable when NPCs are spawning in.
    • New values: Low: 256 MB (this is stated on the website), Med: 1 GB (this is recommended on the website), High: No limit
  • Optimized AI server hot loop for ship position updates.
  • Tweaked name of "Gold Buckle Sash" to "Gilded Buckle Sash". This is because Gold Buckle Sash is dye-able and clashes with the "Gold" dye color.
  • Various back-end optimizations.
  • WhiteList and BlackList updates.

Known Issues[]

  • Poltergeist spawn far too frequently. We're on the case!
  • Sometimes, the lighting in the Avatar Chooser may appear too dark/shadowy.
  • The Muertos Moon event icon in the Server List panel will not properly unload once Muertos Moon is over.
  • The pop-up tooltips for event icons on the Server List may sometimes be mismatched when looking at the Server List from the Avatar Chooser.
  • There may be a rare instance where players will be unable to open loot dropped from Lieutenant Funesto if they have not completed the Raven's Cove Story Quest and have already looted the Lost Sword of El Patron.

June[]

2025-6-30 tlopo-pyp-v1.13.1[]

Maintenance[]

  • Reimplemented Funesto's boss icon on the compass to make spotting him easier.

Bugfixes[]

  • Fixed a crash related to new clothing icon colors.

2025-6-29 tlopo-pyp-v1.13.0[]

Announcements[]

  • Welcome to update 1.13.0, our summer update! Lots of goodies all over the game in this update! We hope you enjoy! We have lots more fun things planned in the coming months. Keep a weather eye on the horizon!
  • Celebrate your pirate independence this Fourth of July with a Double Loot Weekend: July 4th to 6th!
  • Redeem the code JULY by July 7th for a festive Party Hat!
  • We'll be having a make-up Muertos Moon event later this summer. Stay tuned for more details!

Features[]

  • Lieutenant Funesto now haunts his Forge.
    • He will periodically spawn in a random location in Funesto's Forge.
    • The chances of finding a legendary from him are significantly higher, but not guaranteed. His loot pool pulls from all non-boss legendary Cursed Blades and his new sword.
    • Please note: As Lieutenant Funesto is a new feature, his drop rates will not be affected by the upcoming Double Loot event. We are evaluating adding his drops to the event in the future!
  • Lieutenant Funesto's fiery sword is now ripe for the taking, alongside three other, less perfect versions of the blade. Find it from Lieutenant Funesto's drop or other areas in the Forge!
  • New Enemy Type: Poltergeist
    • A new breed of ghost will now appear periodically throughout Raven's Cove locations. But what does it drop?
  • Fireworks will now play on Bilgewater during all firework-related holidays (Fourth of July, New Year's Eve, Mardi Gras, and the TLOPO Anniversary).
  • Original Port Royal, Original Tortuga, and Original Padres del Fuego now play fireworks during firework-related holidays, using the exact position values from the original game in 2008.
  • Added a new Embroidered Lace Corset to Secret Trading Outpost and loot. Available in all colors!

Enhancements - General[]

  • Firework dinghies now appear on the shores of the main islands during every firework-related holiday, not just Fourth of July, each with their own little flair/detail.
  • Haunted Loot Chests and Skull Chests now have custom sound effects when dropping a legendary. You'll see it when Hollowed Woods returns!
  • Reworked how Rage Ghost health works to be more in the spirit of the original design.
    • Rage Ghosts can no longer be one-hit killed by a single player with a super powerful weapon like Storm Sphere. Players must team up to kill them using some sort of a stun skill.
  • Ship of the Line Changes:
    • Added ship repair spots and many new cannons to the Ship of the Line.
    • SOTL stats increase: 32 cargo, 28 crew, 24 deck cannons.
    • Please note: The Ship of the Line is not releasing anytime soon. We have no immediate plans. These are just tweaks in response to our recent SvS Game Master event.
  • The TLOPO Anniversary holiday now has expanded out firework settings.

Enhancements - Badges Panel[]

  • Added some long-needed back-end changes to make Game Masters' lives a little easier, as well as to allow for easier functionality in the future.
  • Refactored the Badges menu in the Sea Chest to be more compact and utilize its space better.
  • Removed the note about Infamy decreasing (for now...)
  • When an Infamy track is maxed out, the bar will now appear as full and the numerical value of "0/0" has been replaced with "Mastered" to provide more clarity.

Enhancements - Items[]

  • Adjusted the flavor text of the Lost Sword of El Patron's Ghost Form skill.
  • Changed description for Immune buff to say "Disabling effects" instead of "Crowd Control effects".
  • Changed the icon colors of various recently released clothing items.
  • Changed the name of Purple Green Party Hat to Green Purple Party Hat. This is because Disney used a very specific naming convention which was mistakenly not followed for this hat, which is being fixed here.
  • Made various changes to the names of recently released clothing items.
  • Modified Gilded Pistol icon.
  • Modified Sea Charm Item Card UI attributes
  • The Jungle Ostrich Hat now only drops if you have completed the Bilgewater Story Quest.
  • Tweaked Item Card behaviors for Sea Charms and Weapons
  • Tweaked some clothing item descriptions.

Weapon Balancing[]

  • Skeletal Scourge, Triton's Vengence, and Dutchman's Wrath now account for their attribute rank when calculating damage boost.
  • Triton's Vengence now properly displays a different damage text color when attacking Jumbees.
  • Buffed Gilded Pistol's attack value.
  • Changed how Navigation works on the back-end, and the skill also accounts for Navigation ranks on items.
  • Ghost Form's attack boost is slightly buffed.
  • Monkey Panic's health bonus is now determined on the rank of the skill on the weapon.
  • Skeletal Scourge on Jack Sparrow's Blade is now Rank 4 instead of Rank 3.
  • Navigation skill buffs:
    • Corsair's Sea Globe from Rank 1 to Rank 2
    • Jack Sparrow's Spyglass from Rank 3 to Rank 5
    • Lost World Sea Chart from Rank 1 to Rank 2
    • Seven Seas Sea Globe from Rank 1 to Rank 3

Bugfixes - General[]

  • Applied another pirate patch to clear some daily quests that weren't properly cleared in our last update. This should fix daily quests for the remaining pirates that can't pick them up again after 24 hours.
  • Fixed a bug associated with Fishing line health depleting too quickly on more performant computers.
  • Fixed a bug where Brethren Victory Feast and Mardi Gras bonfire would give the wrong rejection message when interacted with.
  • Fixed a bug where door kicking sound effects weren't synced with the door kick animation when breaking out of jail.
  • Fixed a bug where players entering into Pantano River from the left entrance would fall underneath the platform once loaded in.
  • Fixed a bug where the April Fool's sound effect used the Loot Pouch's spawn sound effect instead of its opening sound effect.
  • Fixed a bug where the Brethren Victory Feast and Mardi Gras bonfire would have an interact circle for players.
  • Fixed a bug with duplicate loot reduction in Cannon Defense.
  • Fixed a crash when an NPC did not have a name defined.
  • Fixed a massive memory leak with game areas.
  • Fixed a memory leak where holiday effects would not unload properly (such as torches from the Brethren Victory Feast or candles from the Winter Festival Tree).
  • Fixed a memory leak with particle effects related to fish bubbles.
  • Fixed a memory leak with torch effects.
  • Fixed a rare crash with fireworks.
  • Fixed a rare server crash with loot.
  • Fixed an audio leak with all building interiors.
  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause the local game window to crash instead of sending the player back to the Character Selection screen when a server crashed/reset.
  • Fixed several crashes when leaving an island during a fireworks show.
  • Fixed the infinite turning bug after using a skill while holding right mouse button + left/right (a/d keys).
  • Fixed torch effects not showing up in swamps and jungles.
  • Potentially fixed a server crash related to ship pathing.

Bugfixes - Enemies[]

  • Fixed a back-end bug with Jumbee bosses.
  • Fixed a bug where certain ghosts would sometimes appear invisible if you teleported in to a friend in the zone.
  • Fixed a bug where docile enemy animals had a very low chance to spawn as random bosses (such as Tia Dalma's alligator and Tinsel Teeth from Winter Festival!)
  • Fixed a bug where Jumbees would spawn as male 2/3rds of the time instead of 50% of the time.

Bugfixes - Skills[]

  • Fixed a bug where buffs that would prevent players from moving (such as Freeze and Stun) would prematurely allow players to move if a Slow or Pain buff was added or removed on the player.
  • Fixed a bug where Rigging ship upgrade skill boosts would not visually apply points in players' Skill pages, even though the actual buffs were functioning properly.
  • Fixed a bug where the duration of certain sailing skills (such as Full Sail, etc.) was mismatched between what was displayed in the Skill menu and what actually was applied when the skills were triggered.
  • Fixed a bug where voodoo doll attune targets were not properly cleaning up.
  • Fixed a bug with skill combo animations.

Bugfixes - Muertos Moon[]

  • Added back-end support for how the Muertos Moon holiday is triggered, which is compatible for future projects too.
  • Changed the Muertos Moon holiday start message to more clearly explain how the event works.
  • Fixed a bug during Muertos Moon where players who were or are in a Crew Lobby would respawn in Muertos Mojito spawn nodes with infinite health instead of properly going to jail.
  • Fixed a bug where players could be trapped in an Adventures lobby if the Muertos Moon was active.
  • Fixed a bug where players cursed by the Muertos Moon could use lobbies.
  • Fixed a bug where players under the influence of the Muertos Moon could access the Storage Chests in the back courtyard of the Port Royal Bank. (If you know, you know!)
  • Fixed a bug where the death animation and music would not play when killed as a zombie during the Muertos Moon.

    • You will still be able to join and filter out these lobbies, you just need to complete the quests first before hosting one yourself.
    • Similarly, in the "Questing" Find a Crew lobby, you won't be able to select key story quests until you've completed the starting task in each respective quest chain.
  • Replaced the Jumbee faction icon with an image of LaSchafe, the Queen Anne's Revenge boss.
    • This is the icon that will appear on the shard list, on Jumbee health bars, above the Queen Anne's Revenge at sea, and in any news pop-ups. This is to differentiate from the former lady Jumbee icon, which is also the unofficial mascot of the Mayhem PvP mode.
  • The Father's Day and New Year's Eve events will now have news pop-up messages announcing when the events have ended.
  • Modified the skill icon for Hurricane Sweep.

  • When using any bayonet weapon, you can press the V key to stab whenever you want.

  • Swapped out the "Urchinfist Tentacles" task in the "Adoria's Family" quest for "Thrall Captain Tentacles" to give more variety to the quest (another task in the same chain requires Urchinfists).
  • The "Pigs" task in the quest "Daily: Restock for Prymme" now properly requests players to sink any War-Class Navy ships.
  • Tweaked the stats for the Iron Priming Cannon Ram -- swapped out +1 Thunderbolt boost for +2 Round Shot boost.
    • This has the ram be more in line with the stats from its family, and also delineates it as a more Copperhead-based cannon ram, and making other boosters like the Phantom Cannon Ram the mainstay for any Thunderbolt-related stat boosts.

2025-4-1 tlopo-pyp-v1.12.30[]

Maintenance[]

  • Firebrand burn is no longer a function of the ship's max HP.
    • This was hard to balance between very low HP ships and very high HP ships. Additionally, this was very punishing to high HP ships while being useless for low HP ships.

    • Every rank of firebrand adds 5s extra (25%)
  • Ship DOT damage markers are now shown so you can see exactly how much damage is being dealt
