November

2019-11-16 tlopo-rc-v1.23.1

Announcement

  • We will be opening a brand new test server very soon. This test server will be ran identical to how Disney ran their test server. Invitations will be issued, and a sign-up page will open on the website. More details on this will be announced within the next week.
  • The first update to the test server will be the Pypperoni Update. In this test release, we have done a soft rewrite of the entire game. Virtually every single piece of content in the game will need to be tested. No mood stone has gone unturned in the Caribbean!
  • We will go into more detail on this when we do the official announcement of the test server as well as the initial "Calling All Testers" blog post.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed a district reset in the matchmaking system.

2019-11-14 tlopo-rc-v1.23.0

Announcements

  • Well, HELLO there, everybody! It's Mr. Dev. Just wanted to say thanks for your patience during our extended downtime. (Please don't hurt me.)
    • So... why were we down so long? Essentially, we were moving all of our core services, both for the game and our website, over to a new server.
    • We were preparing for this over the past week to make sure everything would go as smoothly as possible, but unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances do arise, and the game had to be down for longer than expected.
    • We've seen a variety of reactions to the downtime, from grouchy, to antsy, to happy. (Yes, happy. Some looters want a break, you know!)
    • So, what else is new? Some stuff! That's what! I know. Very descriptive. Just read below. Or don't. It's not like I spent a ton of time on any of these changes or anything.

Optimizations

  • Fixed a client memory leak with the acid damage effect.
  • Fixed a ton of lag in the Hollowed Woods Town Hall.
  • Potentially fixed the really annoying flashing effects that'd occur in the Hollowed Woods Town Hall.
  • Reduced the number of excessive task calls in-game. This is essentially the game spending time updating a bunch of things every single frame.
  • Translation: Slow things go bye-bye.
  • Optimized how skills are handled on the back-end.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed the Hollowed Woods ambient sound effects not cleaning up properly when exiting the area.
    • Oh? What's that? You WANT the Watcher SCREAMING into your headphones every five minutes? Great! Lemme just revert this change real quick.
  • Fixed a district reset with the chat filter.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented effects, such as knockdowns or the red hit marker, from appearing in PvP when struck.
  • Fixed an ancient POTCO issue where ocean zone names wouldn't show up on the world map.
    • You should now properly see the areas like "Boiling Bay" or "The Hinterseas."
  • Fixed a teleportation district reset related to ocean areas.
  • Fixed a bug where tunnel markers in caves wouldn't show up on the minimap.
    • Not like it matters, but the tunnel markers WOULD show up previously if you teleported into the cave either to a friend or if you're a moderator CREEPIN' in on some "antics."

Door Bugfixes

  • Hi. Don't judge me for this section. It was an entire mini-project, and instead of getting it muddled in with all the other notes, I wanted to separate it so you can read more easily.
  • Fixed a bug where back doors to the taverns on Cuba and the SvS isles wouldn't work.
  • Fixed a bug where you could walk through the door on the second floor of the Decrepit Shop in Hollowed Woods.
  • Fixed a crash when trying to enter into a building from a back door, when the interior didn't have a back door.
  • Fixed a crash when trying to exit a building from a back door, when the exterior didn't have a back door.
  • Fixed a bug where the following buildings had multiple selectable entrance/exit doors, when they shouldn't have:
    • Anton Levy Smithery, Cesar's Barbershop, Clubheart Tavern, Doc Grog's, Dolores Tailoring Shoppe, Faithful Bride, Fantifico's Manor, Ferrera's Blacksmith Shop, Goslin Prymme's, King's Arm, Patricio's Potions, Ratskellar, Rowdy Rooster, Royal Anchor, Seamstress Anne's Shop, Skull's Thunder, Threadbarren's Tailor Shop, Yuletide Manor
  • Fixed a Disney bug where entering through the back door of Porc's Tavern would place you at the front door of the interior, and vice versa.
  • Removed the faux back door model from inside the following taverns:
    • Faithful Bride, King's Arm, Rowdy Rooster, Ratskellar, Goslin Prymme's

Maintenance & Tweaks

  • Fixed a typo in the Hollowed Woods quest.
  • Code cleanup.
  • Tweaked the fade in transition/effect on the pirate selection screen.
  • Changed the little button you click to select which badge you display next to your name. It is now a dot instead of a coin.
    • This is of basically no consequence, but I, Mr. Dev HAD to change it. That UGLY coin has BOTHERED me since I was but a wee pirate back in 2011.
    • The change only took five seconds. Please don't devour me. (Or maybe do. I'd love to be free of this prison that is known as POTCO client code.)
  • The loading screen should now properly go to 100% when loading into the Avatar Chooser and onto an island.
  • Per feedback on the forums, Stocking Caps (with the exception of Dyeable Cotton Stocking Cap) are now only lootable during the Winter Festival.
    • Thanks for working with me on this, guys! Hope to continue this trend in the future.
    • So yeah, please come to the forums and offer your feedback! And maybe if enough folks come I'll give out a redeem code! And I TOTALLY promise it won't be a Rusty Cutlass. Swear.
  • Reworked how holidays that go from the end of one year into another function. This should affect: Winter Festival, New Year's Eve, Winter Mystic outfit, Sea Wolf outfit. There's no way to test this ahead of time so yaaay. In theory, should work.
    • Yeah, Sea Wolf is the new December outfit. OOOOH spoilers! Mr. Dev is gonna get fired.
  • Tunnel connectors now have collisions. For example, you'll now run ON the ramp instead of THROUGH the ramp when going into Pantano River on Cuba.

Prop Tweaks

  • Fix the clipping mine cart in Hollowed Woods.
  • Removed the floating ribbons that'd appear in King's Arm during the Winter Festival.
  • La Bodeguita on Cuba now appropriately has a tavern sign outside its door.

You're welcome again, different you-know-who. ;)

  • Fixed a bug where tavern background music would play in the Clubheart Tavern on Raven's Cove.
  • Restructured how tavern music works on the back-end, allowing more functionality later and AAAAA.
    • Venting time. This has taken me a good HOUR to write! Wanna know why?
    • "Mr. Dev! I want a boat!" x 13 times. >:(
    • NO, STEPHEN! No BOAT for you! I'm BUSY writing release notes!

Known Issues

  • So, the Tutorial is being a meanie. We had to ban it. Its time out hopefully won't last too long. Until it has learned its lesson, you'll be teleported straight to Port Royal after finishing pirate creation.

2019-11-3 tlopo-rc-v1.22.3

Bugfixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused female pirates to be auto-terminated from the game if they bought the Merchant Captain's Tall Boots from Peddlers.

What a lovely bug! Don't you agree? I'm shocked TLOPO didn't fire me! (That rhymes!)

  • All 5 of the accounts affected have now been entered into the pantheon of the "Banned for Buying Boots" club.
  • They have been sufficiently reimbursed with some sweet sweet redeem codes.
  • Mr. Dev will now be forever paranoid whenever he adds a new clothing item to the game. Yay! (Help me.)

2019-11-2 tlopo-rc-v1.22.2

Bugfixes

  • Fixed a district reset with Anniversary Rewards shops.

October

2019-10-31 tlopo-rc-v1.22.1

Bugfixes

  • Adjusted the loot drop rate for Captain Windshadow. An unforeseen issue made his drop rate exponentially higher than intended.

2019-10-30 tlopo-rc-v1.22.0

Announcements

  • Welcome to our Storms in Hollowed Woods update! Lots of new stuff has arrived. We really hope you enjoy what we have to offer!
  • Please be aware that we are currently working on a massive overhaul of the Lookout matchmaking system behind the scenes. As a result, some functionality with the current Lookout system may be wonky.
    • The Underground Parlor Games instance and Find a Crew have been temporarily disabled due to serious bugs that arose with this overhaul.
    • Your mileage may vary with the Black Pearl Boss Battle and Team PvP.
    • We understand that this may be irritating, but we figured this was better than turning off PvP and Treasure Maps altogether.
    • We promise that the new Lobbies system is well worth the wait! We can't wait to share more with you in the coming weeks. We're working on this non-stop. Stay tuned!

Features

  • Now Live: Hollowed Woods - New and Improved!
    • Your favorite seasonal spooky hideaway has been given a makeover! New props, rocks, and more! (Mostly rocks, let's be real...)
  • Ship Renaming is now live! Visit any Shipwright to rename a ship.
    • Make sure you choose wisely, it will cost more each time a ship is renamed!
  • New Quest: Storms in Hollowed Woods!
    • Help Myrna the gypsy keep an infernal evil from escaping once more. Learn more about The Watcher and the origins of Hollowed Woods!
    • Players level 40 and up that have completed "Haunting in Hollowed Woods" are eligible to pick up the quest from Richard Silveredge next to the Port Royal jail.
    • Earn a new outfit (and a bonus hat) while completing the quest!
  • New Legendary Weapon!
    • Shrouded in mystery, this weapon could be a vital piece in the puzzle that is Hollowed Woods.
    • Includes an all-new skill. Strike down your enemies, but pay the price...
    • Players must have completed "Storms in Hollowed Woods" in order to loot this powerful new weapon.
  • New Famed Grenade: Breath of Hollowed Woods
    • The EITC, Navy, and Jolly Roger have all been sticking their noses where they don't belong. Each faction has stolen a bit of Hollowed Woods' flame for their own and encapsulated it into an orb.
    • Players can loot this new grenade anywhere in the Caribbean while the Hollowed Woods event is active.
    • All-New Skill: Hollowed Flame - Need we say more?
  • New Location: Hollowed Woods Town Hall
    • Once the gathering place for all of the woods' citizens, the Town Hall now serves as a cursed prison for a captain most vile...
    • What secrets does this building hold?
  • New Anniversary Rewards Outfit: Candy Corn Jester
    • Purchase it from Jonathan Fairbanks in the Hollowed Woods Decrepit Shop.
  • New Combat Music in Hollowed Woods
    • Our composer has whipped up quite the thrilling tune for Hollowed Woods! An all-new track will play when you enter combat within the accursed jungle.
  • New Enemy Type: Jumbee Voodoo Master, found in the Hollowed Woods Town Hall.
  • Lady Pirates: You can now loot an accented embellished vest! Equality!
    • You can also purchase non-bright versions in that totally still a secret location on Tortuga.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed a beautiful bug where Mayhem PvP would load you onto Black Pearl Island.
  • Fixed a bug where a quest giver would not offer a quest if it had a prerequisite of completing another quest first.
    • Here's the skinny: Finished "Haunting in Hollowed Woods"? Great! You're over level 40? Fantastic! Oh, you want to try the new quest? NO! Richard Silveredge is having NONE of your sass. He's been through enough.
  • Fixed a bug where Jumbee bosses would not wear the clothes you assigned to them.
    • This still does not fix the bug where the Queen Anne's Revenge boss, LaSchafe, has randomized DNA every time. But not like that matters right now, since the QAR is currently disabled.
    • And don't worry! We haven't forgotten about that. QAR is near and dear to our hearts. We just want to make sure it doesn't break your boat every time you try to board it!
  • Fixed a bug where some fence icons on the Hollowed Woods minimap appeared to be giant and blocky.
  • Fixed a bug where the bonfire flame from the Thanksgiving & Mardi Gras events would turn on during the Hollowed Woods event, making it seem like there's a massive fireball on Tortuga beach.

Tweaks & Enhancements

  • Overhauled a Disney mechanic that locked and unlocked building doors in relation to quests. (Think of the Undead Poker Shack)
    • This will give us greater functionality and freedom when developing future quests.
  • By player request, you are now able to enter the Undead Poker Shack in Rat's Nest whenever you like - once you've completed the proper portion of the Raven's Cove Story Quest.
  • Overhauled quite a bit of code regarding Jumbees.
    • Previously, Disney's setup for them was quite unfinished, and did not allow for complex organizations like stationary bosses, specific spawns, and a variety of other things.
  • Redid Hollowed Woods' sound effects.
    • No more birds or jungle noises. This place is cursed!
    • Replaced with new, more eerie, yet still subtle sound effects.
    • Water rushing is now no longer as loud.
    • Turned down constant and random occasional sound effects as to not overshadow the music.
  • Overhauled Hollowed Woods' environment effects.
    • No more daytime effects! This is supposed to be a spooky place!
    • Increased fog just a bit.
    • Changed sky from green to dark dark blue, like Raven's Cove at night, to better suit the atmosphere.
  • Added a fair amount of boulders and rocks across Hollowed Woods.
    • This is primarily for lore reasons. We wanted to make the area better reflect the miner's town vision we had way back in 2017.
    • And it doesn't hurt that it makes the area stand out a little bit from the other jungles with the same layout.
    • Plus, this adds new story possibilities down the line... wink wink.
  • Dry Rot now has his own personal little grotto in Hollowed Woods.
  • Cleaned up a variety of props in Hollowed Woods.
  • Removed a bunch of extraneous props to help reduce lag.
  • Fixed a bunch of fences that were placed improperly.
    • Fences will no longer clip into each other, or float above ground.
  • By player request, you may now wear your full equipped outfit in PvP.
    • Previously, women were forced into a corset, and men were forced to go shirtless. A little bit much for an E10+ game, ey?
    • Also, you were forced to wear specific zombie pants and shorts. How fashionable.
    • You can still loot these items outside of PvP (see our other note in this section).
    • In summary: Hats, shirts, vests, coats, pants, boots. All of it. They'll show up in PvP. Flaunt your brights.
  • Adjusted several quest props.
    • Enemies, skeletons (the dead kind, for once), and hay bales may have been moved from their original spots, but not a single one has been deleted.
  • Added the new quest rewards from "Storms in Hollowed Woods" to the Quest Rewards vendors.
    • Of course, you won't be able to purchase them until you've completed the proper corresponding quest tasks.
  • Renamed the Zombie Trousers (male) and Zombie Shorts (female) to "Rotted Trousers" and "Rotted Shorts" respectively.
    • This was to help differentiate them from the "Zombie Pirate's ____" naming convention from the Garb of the Undead Peddler outfit.
    • Also gave these items new custom descriptions. Because why not? It only takes a second.
    • In case you were curious, you can loot these items from any skeleton in-game.
    • Ladies, you can also now get a Rotted Corset to go with your shorts, by completing the Storms in Hollowed Woods quest.
  • Overhauled the Hollowed Woods minimap.
    • Event Rewards vendor icons now show up, telling you where to shop.
  • Updated a bunch of areas on the map to accommodate for the new boulders and rocks and... stuff?
  • Streamlined the code for picking up a quest.
  • Updated some staff commands to help our team test the new quest and location.
  • Code cleanup, the usual little stuff we don't talk about. But I figured I'd go in-depth for some of it this time. Sleep deprivation makes me oddly more precise.
  • Replaced the old, ugly, blocky Hollowed Woods water with a nice crisp HD water. Fresh out of the oven just like mom used to make.
  • Sized down Goodprice Tattoos in Hollowed Woods. You know, that big tree building?
  • Added some invisible barriers on the cliff behind Goodprice Tattoos (where The Watcher's Hovel is).
  • More whitelist and blacklist updates.

Known Issues

  • For quest tasks that require you to search for a specific barrel, crate, or object, it won't matter which item you attempt to search. As long as it's in the same area (i.e. jungle or mainland), it'll count for your quest.
  • If you are level 40+ and JUST completed "Haunting in Hollowed Woods," the icon above Richard Silveredge's head to pick up the next quest will not appear.
  • The green interact circle on the Hollowed Woods Town Hall door is a bit wonky. You may not see it clearly.
  • Jumbee Voodoo Masters in the Hollowed Woods Town Hall won't attack you unless you provoke them.
    • This is a symptom of a larger issue with our enemy aggression system. We will look into this at a later date.
  • The new boss in the Hollowed Woods Town Hall may glitch out of the walls if you run for the door while engaged in combat.
    • This is the same bug that plagues The Watcher. The plus side is, you should actually be able to glitch out of the walls in some places and kill the cheeky boy yourself this time. Or, if you're lazy, just shoot him with a musket or something.
    • This is also a symptom of a larger issue with enemy pathing in relation to building interiors. We're on the job, don't you worry!
  • The new skill, Hollowed Flame, doesn't apply damage over time.
    • Once again, symptom of a larger issue. All grenade skills don't apply damage over time. We're working on that.
    • Certain grenade effects don't play when an enemy uses a grenade to attack.
    • Damage is applied to your health before the enemy throws a grenade instead of after.

Developer Notes

  • I'm just gonna get out in front of the crowd and clarify: The new quest does NOT reward you with the new legendary.
    • Although I think the clothes are quite legendary myself. Shout-out to our lovely texture artist. Great job!
    • You earn the new legendary the same way you earn Cursed Blades. Finishing the new quest just unlocks the ability to loot it.
    • The new famed grenade has no restrictions. Loot to your heart's content.
  • We've been reading a lot about the darkness level in The Watcher's Hovel on the forums, and understand the frustration. Here's our stance, and a bit of an explanation:
    • We won't be making the location brighter. We feel that the darkness brings an eerie uniqueness to the area. Plus, it makes The Watcher, who is just a pair of eyes, stick out a bit more.
    • That being said, there IS a bug with the building's environment. Much like with caves, The Watcher's Hovel turns SUPER dark pitch black (like my soul) during and after invasions. We will be looking into this as soon as possible.
  • Another thing I wanted to address is holiday quest repeatability in relation to quest resale vendors and the new legendary weapon.
    • After Hollowed Woods ends (or any other holiday for that matter, like Valentine's Day), the quests corresponding to that holiday are wiped from your quest history.
    • And, in conclusion, just wanted to say thanks. It's been a ride making this content for you all.
    • We have a lot of projects being developed at once. This, the Capture the Chest expansion, and a few other things (both announced and unannounced).
    • Happy Halloween, Happy Anniversary, and enjoy the game!

  • Changed starting bounties in SvS to scale off pirate level and SvS rank, up to a cap of 100.

Known Issues

  • Doll does not currently award reputation or loot credit when healing a pirate. As a workaround, damage the enemy with any doll ability while healing your fellow pirates.

Developer Insider

  • We'd like to take a moment to explain a recent change that seemed to cause some confusion. The bugfix to damaging oneself in PvP mode applies to attacks such as broadsword swings, players will still be able to damage themselves with grenade attacks and Desolation. Additionally, this bug only occurred while in zombie mode outside of an instance.

2019-9-4 tlopo-rc-v1.21.7

August

2019-8-16 tlopo-rc-v1.21.6

PSA: Regarding Sailing Loot Changes

  • The following two changes from a prior update (v1.21.4) warrant a more in-depth explanation:
    • Potentially fixed a bug where loot containers caused lag.
    • Potentially fixed a bug which caused sailing loot containers to disappear.
  • To clarify, players are now getting credit for each container at the time the enemy ship is sunk, rather than all of the containers when you are trying to port. This was done because we determined that the system failed while trying to calculate all of the loot for each player while porting the ship. This caused players to lose their loot, and their ships to be damaged or sunk by Bounty Hunters, due to the delay from loot calculation. *This now means that only the players who are on board when the plunder is acquired (aka enemy ship is sunk) will receive the gold, loot, etc. from that plunder.

When you board a ship, mid run, and you see cargo containers, royal chests, loot containers, material containers already acquired, you will NOT be getting credit for them, because you were not on board when those enemy ships were sunk. Again, you are ONLY getting loot/gold/materials for the enemy ship plunder you are present for.

Features

The much anticipated SCROLLBAR in the SHIP LOOT PANEL has finally been released! No more fiddling around with the game window to get all your loot! Bugfixes

  • Fixed a server crash related to guild chat.

Maintenance

  • Updated blacklist and whitelist.

2019-8-16 tlopo-rc-v1.21.4

  • Players can now right-click to swap Cannon Rams and Sea Charms
  • There is now a new section in the SvS scoreboard for streaks, moving it from the chat window.

  • Fixed a bug that allowed Take Cover and Open Fire to stack.

  • Fixed a bug where stats in SvS were not resetting properly when players docked their ship.
  • Fixed a bug where streak credit in SvS was not awarded properly.
  • Fixed a bug where there would be a few seconds delay before a bright color dye was applied to the item you're wearing.

  • Fixed a crash with quest props.
  • Fixed a crash with the Speed rigging upgrade.

  • Potentially fixed a bug where repair spots would become disabled when a player uses or is hit by Ramming Speed.

  • Fixed several SvS-related district resets.

  • Corrected the maximum number of barrels that were allowed to be fired on players in a single wave.
  • Fixed a bug that caused a single pirate to be assigned to more than one cannon in Cannon Defense, marking the match as full, even if there were 1 or 2 spots still open.
  • Fixed a bug that caused players to walk off of their cannons and swim down next to the ships.
  • Fixed a bug that caused treasure stealing to not work at all. Wouldn't it be great if you could just have full treasure all the time?!

  • Fixed a bug where a Cannon Defense game wouldn't start if there were multiple people on cannons.

  • Fixed a bug where Cold Shot would not slow down ships.

  • Fixed a bug where ship HP would scale way too high.
  • Fixed a bug where ships would not return all the treasure they stole when they sink.

  • Fixed a district reset that would occur if a player on another server teleported to someone in a Cannon Defense game.
  • Fixed a district reset that would occur when two different players were assigned to the same Cannon.
  • Fixed a hilarious bug where during an Invasion, Cannon Defense ships would be replaced with skeletons.
    • The Undead would walk on water until they reached the shore, which would then cause the entire server to crash.
  • Fixed an issue where ships would move backward slightly, and then properly move forwards shortly after spawning.
  • Fixed an issue where "Boss Ships" wouldn't spawn in Cannon Defense.
  • Fixed an issue where a player would crash if it took the game too long to attach them to a cannon.

  • Fixed an issue where water would turn black if you joined Cannon Defense, left, and then rejoined.
  • Fixed an issue where wooden debris effects would not clean up, and would pile up in a corner of the Cannon Defense game.
    • Hundreds upon thousands of wood effects would pile up on top of each other.
    • This caused a horrible frame rate drop during Cannon Defense.
    • If a player's camera moved to look at this pile directly, they would freeze completely.
  • Fixed end-of-wave gold popups after re-entering Cannon Defense.
  • Frigates now properly move faster when leaving shore with treasure.
  • Properly scaled treasure stolen to be proportional to each ship type.
  • Ship HP now properly increases by 20% after every 13 waves in Cannon Defense.
  • Smaller ships now properly steal less treasure than larger ships.
  • There will now properly be an error message if you attempt to teleport to someone in a Cannon Defense game.

Known Issues

  • Because of some unrelated gun damage/range bugs, using the Deadeye or Marksman Draught potions may not seem to yield any results.
    • We are confident that the boosts are being applied, it's just that these other bugs are masking the bonus effects.
    • Once these bugs are fixed (hopefully soon), you should see visible improvement when drinking these potions.
    • We will double check these potions once the bugs are fixed to make sure they are indeed working properly.
  • The debuff timer above your health bar for some potions may run out early, but the icon will remain (with 0 seconds remaining) until the potion's proper expiration time.
  • You may notice some choppiness with how Bandit ships move in Cannon Defense. It tends to resolve itself around waves higher than 10.
    • We've tested Cannon Defense with Pypperoni (our big back-end overhaul to improve frame-rate and functionality), and it runs smoother there - so you should see improvement there once "Pyp" is out.
  • 1 Hotkey Issue: If you exit a Cannon Defense game or crash, when you return, your 1 hotkey for Round Shot may not work anymore.
    • You can still click the Round Shot icon with your mouse to use it.
    • This will remain broken like this until you do a clean restart of your game.
    • This bug has been particularly pesky for quite a while now. We have added several debug and logging features to track what the problem is.
    • Considering this is a comparatively minor issue, we decided to launch Cannon Defense with this bug still in the game.
    • We don't want to hold you all off from your cannons any longer than we have to!
  • Obviously, Cannon Defense is a pretty big new feature to the game!
    • We've tested it extensively over the past few months, but it's likely that some new bugs will pop up now that hundreds of you will be playing the game, so please bear with us!
    • We will fix everything we find as fast as we can. Thanks!
  • Oh, we also have YouTube channel. Plz subscribe or else we'll delete all your cannon rams again. https://youtube.com/TheLegendofPiratesOnline

    • Vendors can be found in every store in the game. Tailor, blacksmith, gunsmith, etc. Each one sells items relative to the store they're in. So if the Quest Reward vendor is in a blacksmith shop, they sell daggers and swords. Tailor? Clothing.
    • For voodoo doll and staff quest rewards, look for the quest reward NPC icon on your mini-map. They're outside.

  • Sailing skill cooldowns are now timed per ship, rather than per person.
    • For example, if a captain fires broadsides then hands the wheel over to the first mate, the first mate is subject to the broadside cooldown from when the captain fired them. This prevents players from having 3-4 different players handing off the wheel to each other, spamming broadsides and other skills.

2019-2-9 tlopo-rc-v1.19.5

Features

  • We have increased the armor on all classes of Galleons.
    • Previously, Galleons ridiculously had less armor than Frigates. Galleons are intended to be the staple "slow, armored" ship class. This puts them back in their rightful rank. In a previous patch, we also slightly increased the speed for all Sloop classes. They were always the fastest ships, but the Brig was, for some reason, very very close behind in terms of speed.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed an issue where two bookshelves were blocking a painting in Graham Marsh Imports on Port Royal.
  • Fixed an issue where two bookshelves were pasted directly on top of each other, causing clipping, in Graham Marsh Imports on Port Royal.
  • Fixed several potion descriptions that said the effects only worked on cutlasses and pistols when in reality they worked for all types of swords and guns.

Maintenance

  • Code cleanup.
  • Localizer improvements and tweaks.
  • Tweaked date ranges for some upcoming holidays.

January

2019-1-26 tlopo-rc-v1.19.3

Features

  • Welcome Worlds have been implemented.
    • These are special oceans/servers that only contain the islands Rambleshack and Port Royal and do not have events such as Invasions that may interfere with the tutorial.
    • All new pirates will load into these oceans and will remain there until they launch their ships from Port Royal or log off. When ships load or when they log back in, they will be on a regular server.
  • Basil Calledougal, the Fort Charles Cannonmaster, has been relieved of his duties. Seems like the Navy didn't quite like a pirate running things inside the fort. Basil can now be seen enjoying his newfound free time in the tavern on Ile d'Etable de Porc. Basil's brother, Bert Calledougal, has taken up his duties as Cannonmaster.
  • EITC bosses Remington the Vicious, Neban the Silent, Samuel, and Claude d'Arcis now have custom appearances and character DNA. They will no longer respawn with random appearances each time.
  • Holiday and daily quests are now explicitly marked as such in your journal. For example: "Holiday: Haunting in Hollowed Woods."
  • The materials pouch in your inventory now denotes which materials are for ship upgrades and which are for events.

Bugfixes

  • All bosses in Hollowed Woods will now properly immediately despawn when the holiday expires.
  • All Halloween weapons will now properly become unavailable in loot and stores as soon as the event is over.
  • Fixed a bug where enemy spawn points would not cycle through different enemy types after each kill.
  • Fixed a district reset with ships.
  • Fixed a floating holiday decoration on the Tortuga beach.
  • Fixed an issue that would have prevented players from picking up the Valentine's Day quest.
  • Fixed an issue where a quest description told players to go to the wrong location.
  • Fixed an issue where certain quest names were too long to fit in the journal.
  • Fixed an issue where players could walk through some props in The Watcher's Hovel.
  • Fixed an issue where several quests had blank descriptions.
  • Fixed an issue where some rocks in Hollowed Woods used the classic jungle stone texture instead of the darker custom Hollowed Woods stone texture.
  • Fixed/removed some weirdly placed props in Hollowed Woods.
  • Players will now properly be booted from Hollowed Woods buildings if they are still inside when the holiday ends.
  • Removed a duplicate stacked piece of UI in the Skill Levels section of the Player Profile panel.

Maintenance
