Shipwreck Cove is a secret island fortress built with the co-operation of the member Pirate Lords of the Brethren Court. The island is a natural formation from a long-expired volcano, leaving only the outer ring and a center rock mass. A large structure was built from parts of ship hulls and whatever else was available.
The massive, well-defended hideout is said to be impregnable and would be last vestige should the freebooters find themselves under siege.
It is also the site where the members of the court meet to decide urgent matters.
It was the goal of Lord Cutler Beckett to find this hidden haven and destroy it - in hopes of scattering the remaining pirates and their ships, so the East India Trading Company could have complete control of the seas.
