In The Legend of Pirates Online, the original Lookout Menu has been replaced by Lobbies. The Lookout (Menu) article has been kept for archive purposes.

This features allows player pirates to create PvP battles, gather crews for looting and plundering, go to Parlor Games or open private meetups outside of regular game play.

To access the Lobby Menu, press (L) or select the Lobby icon from the Sea Chest menu.

Lobby Menu[]

Lobbies List[]

Lobbies List

After selecting Lobbies or pressing L, the list of Lobbies will appear.

This will display the list of PUBLIC lobbies, or lobbies where the host allows any pirate to join. PRIVATE lobbies will not display and the pirate must enter a Code given by the host to be able to join their lobby.

The list also shows which Pirate is the Lobby Host, what Game Mode the lobby is and how many players are currently in the lobby.

You can re-order this list by clicking the column headers at the top.

At the bottom, you can Create Lobby, Filter Options or Refresh the list.

Create Lobby[]

To start your own Public or Private Lobby, click Create Lobby. The Lobby Menu (below) will appear.

Filter Options[]

When you select Filter Options, a pop-up window will list the Types of Lobbies available. Any kind of lobby with a check next to it will be displaying in the Lobby List.

By un-checking the types of Lobbies in the list, you can more easily find the type of Lobby you're looking.

Refresh[]

Clicking Refresh updates the Lobby List if any new Lobbies have been created, or closed or filled up.

Join a Lobby[]

To join a Public Lobby in the Lobby List, simply click on it. You do NOT have to be on the same Ocean (Server) as the Lobby itself to join the Lobby. Once the event begins, you will be teleported automatically.

To join a Private Lobby, you must enter the Lobby Code - since a private lobby is NOT displayed in the Lobby List. This code is created randomly when the Lobby is created. The Lobby Host will need to share this code with pirates they want to join.

Once you join a Lobby, the Lobby Card will appear.

Lobby Card[]

Once you create or join an existing lobby, the Lobby Card will appear. It details what kind of lobby, Public of Private, the Lobby Host, which pirates are currently in the lobby, Team Designation (if any) and their location. At the bottom, the Lobby destination and description is displayed.

The Lobby Host is designated by a gold coin beside their name. The current host can designate any other pirate to become host at any time. Simply click on that pirate's name in the Lobby Card and select Promote.

The Host can also remove troublesome pirates by clicking on their name, then selecting Kick.

In PvP, the Team Selection is shown for each pirate in the lobby. Initially this is assigned randomly as pirates join the lobby - but the Host can change team assignments.

Lobby Chat[]

Like Crew Chat and Guild Chat, once a pirate joins a Lobby - a private channel for Chat is created. Only those pirates in the lobby can read and write in this chat tab.

Lobby Chat will appear in pink

Also, messages regarding pirates joining, leaving or closing a Lobby will appear pink as well.

Once you exit the Lobby, the Lobby Chat tab closes.

Creating a Lobby[]

Any pirate can create their own Lobby at any time (except when they're already in another Lobby).

Just click Create Lobby to begin.

Lobby Menu[]

After selecting Create Lobby, the Lobby Main Menu will appear.

You can select from:

  • Pirate Vs. Pirate - These are competitive battles where player pirates face off in duels, team battles, or free-for-all Mayhems.
  • Parlor Games - Private gambling halls for playing Poker and Blackjack outside of taverns.
  • Treasure Maps - These are special area, like Boss Battles, where a pirate crew works together to complete a goal.
  • Adventures - Options for pirates to gather to play in special areas together.

Or click Back to close the Menu

Pirate Vs. Pirate Menu[]

This menu is for creating a Lobby for PvP competitions. The Hobby Host selects the type of competition and location, which also dictates how many pirates can join.

Once the minimum number of pirates join the battle (2 for Mayhem, 4 for Team Battles, 6+ for Domination and Capture the Chest), the Host can click Start to begin. After the battle begins, NO other pirates can join this Lobby.

Capture The Chest[]

Choose the location and options for two teams of pirates to compete in TLOPO's version of Capture the Flag. Each team consists of 3 or more pirates trying to steal the chest of loot from the other's base while defending their own ill-gotten booty.

Capture the Chest Maps:

Domination[]

Choose the location and options for two teams of pirates to compete in the area control game - Domination . Each team consists of 3 or more pirates trying to control areas of the map while fighting off their opposition.

Dominion Maps:

Team Battle[]

Choose the location and options for two teams of pirates to complete in combat. Each team must consist of at least 2 pirates.

Unlike POTCO, where teams were randomly assigned, in the Lobby the host can pick the teams before the battle starts.

Mayhem[]

Choose location and options for Free-For-All battle between 2-12 pirates. There is no team designation. Each pirate will be assigned a random color at the beginning of the round.

In TLOPO, 1 vs 1 Mayhem replaces PvP Duels. There is no Duel option.

Parlor Games Menu[]

This menu creates a lobby for Underground Parlor Games. Pirates looking to play Poker, Blackjack or both away from regular tavern locations can create an instance here.

The Lobby Host can then choose the location to play Parlor Games and can Start the Lobby at any time since there is NO minimum number of pirate needs.

Once a Public Lobby has been started, it will appear in the Lobby List.

Also, any Pirate can join a public Parlor Game Lobby at any time once it's been started or Redeem the Lobby Code for entering a private card game.

Poker and Blackjack[]

These locations offer both games:

Blackjack Only[]

You can only play 21 at these:

Original Island Maps[]

POTCO made major changes to the 3 main islands to accommodate the new Invasion feature but also to improve game performance due to lag. This happened during an Island Reconstruction event and woven into the storyline as a major conflict result in the destruction of the main islands only for the pirates to rebuild them very quickly.

The Legend of Pirates Online have added the Original Island maps back for Port Royal, Tortuga and Padres Del Fuego. Currently, the original, merchants, jungles and caves are NOT accessible. Also TLOPO has added numerous signposts detailing the changes from the old to new versions.

Meetup Maps[]

There are a number of Meetup Locations across the Caribbean where groups of pirates from 2 to 32 can meet in a variety of settings. These locations are great for private parties, guild meetings, or special events. Each location has a HOST NPC character and some have musicians to interact with.

Exploration Maps[]

This options allows pirates to wander special maps, including PvP maps. These exploration maps have no timer, no enemies and no PvP mode. This means pirates can check out map layouts without being attacked or see maps not included in the game.

Lobby Management[]

The Lobby Host controls the settings in the Lobby. Once a Lobby has been created, the type of Lobby cannot be changed without starting over. Some Lobbies have a Minimum requirement that must be met. Once enough pirates are in the lobby, the Lobby Host can click Start at any time.

However, the Lobby Host can change the Location at any time before pressing Start.

Lobby Hosts can also set the Lobby to Public or Private. All Public Lobbies will be displayed in the Lobby List.

Team Selection[]

In PvP Lobbies, the Host can select Teams before the battle begins by checking the Red or Blue boxes next to each pirate's name in the Lobby. When a pirate first joins the lobby, the team is automatically assigned.

Promote Host[]

At any point, a Host can promote another pirate in the Lobby to become the new Lobby Host. Just click their name in the Lobby Card. Then, Promote.

Kick[]

Just like the Boot From Ship option with a Crew, the Host can remove a pirate from the Lobby if they are being troublesome.

Click on their name, then choose Kick. The booted pirate will be unable to return to the Lobby, while it's still open.

Game Note[]

  • Lobbies were released in June 2020
  • Pirates sometimes use a Boss Lobby as a placeholder, allowing players who join to be able to teleport directly to the Boss without having to travel long distances or join a crew.
