Cannon[]
Starting you Cannon first is good in many ways. First off, you can upgrade your Round Shot for better broadsides. Secondly, you can get more Gold to buy a Medium or War class ship. You will also do more damage with broadsides the higher your Cannon Level. So, off to the guide!
Cannon Leveling 1-5[]
To begin with, leveling on a public War Frigate is very effective for the first 10 levels of the Cannon. Every time you level, spend the skill point on Round Shot. Once you hit level 5, you should have a maxed out Round Shot. This is the ammo you should use for most of ship sinking, you get much more rep.
Use any cannon ram that has a Round Shot boost but the ones below are best, although the last one has only been found in Cannon Defense, so it's hard to get.

Cannon Leveling 6-10[]
Still, staying on a public ship is a very good way to level. When you reach level 6, spend the point on Shoot. Shoot can let you shoot cannon balls up to 160% faster. Only spend your skill points on mainly shoot but also, round shot and rapid reload to level 10. Now shoot should be maxed.
