The Headstone is a supernatural object various factions in the Caribbean are actively searching for. It is the 'McGuffin' that the player must aid Captain Jack Sparrow find in the on-going battle with the villainous Jolly Roger.
As a player, the pirate will begin to aid Jack in this quest as part of Story Quest: The Headstone and likely conclude in Chapter 6 of The Legend of Pirates Online. At the end of Chapter 4, the pirate is rewarded with El Cazavientos (pictured above), a magical charm, which is said to be a piece of the Headstone itself. Jack requires The Headstone because of its rumored power to control the wind, which can aid The Black Pearl at sea.

An ancient Fathers of Fire painting was discovered in the caverns beneath Padres
According to myth, the Headstone was crafted by the original natives on Padres Del Fuego to honor their fire god, none of whom appear to still be alive. They referred to themselves as the The Fathers of Fire and imbued the stone with extremely powerful voodoo magic.
The Headstone was formed from magma fresh out of the volcano itself. Once it was set, blessings were bestowed and writings were inscribed into the rock. There's no direct translation of said inscriptions, but likely spells and tales of the tribe.
Over time, the Headstone was fought for by many different people, including El Patron - the cruel conquistador - who learned of it's existence from the natives on his travels. In exchange for gifts, they showed him the Headstone. It's rumored he used the stone to give his Lost Weapons their power as part of a plan to challenge Davy Jones himself.
In retaliation and fear of what harm outsiders could wreak with their magic, the tribe threw the Headstone into the heart of the volcano itself. Angered, Patron took out his vengeance on the remaining members of the tribe. But, many still believe the stone was NOT destroyed.
Since then, the Royal Navy likely manipulated by Cutler Beckett and the East India Trading Company have joined the hunt for this potentially devastating weapon. Between mortal enemies and Jolly Roger's rising power, the pirates of the Caribbean endeavour to procure the stone to ensure their freedom as well as stop Roger's undead army.

The full capability of such a magical object is not known, but among its rumored abilities are the power to control the winds, imbibe objects with voodoo magic (cursed weapons), healing powers, the ability to resurrect the dead, and provide protection from one's enemies.
Game Notes[]
In the original Pirates Online game, the pirate would inform Jack Sparrow that The Black Pearl has been freed at the end of Story Quest: The Black Pearl Crew, to which Jack would then elude to the next step of finding The Headstone, since it had the power to control the winds themselves.
This chapter was never completed and the cut scene was removed from the game. It's been restored for The Legend of Pirates Online.
