A Break Attack is a special type of weapon skill that charges through combos or by taking damage, or sometimes both. It is found on various weapons. Some examples of Break Attacks are Hurricane Slash, Dark Curse, Shock Sweep, Freeze Sweep, Captain's Fury and Monkey Panic.

Break attack can also be charged by using Drain Health.

The lower the weapon in its family, the faster the break attack loads.

It seems that if the weapon in possession of a Break Skill is not a Sword, a Bayonet at melee range, or a Dagger, it will not charge as you inflict damage- only through receiving damage. All users of these are advised to take good note of this when planning out their course of action.
