A Captain is the commanding officer of a ship, whether it is a military vessel or a privately owned vessel. Often times, with a personal craft or a privateer ship, the captain is also the out-right owner as opposed to a hired officer.
In Pirates Online, a Captain is the fourth rank one can achieve in privateering infamy. To achieve this rank, a pirate must already have earned the rank of Commander and an additional 1,500 points.
