Little is known about the Abu Nar, other than they operated within the Near East. They were renowned wielders of daggers, many of which ended up in the hands of Caribbean settlers.
Cutler Beckett's journal mentions dealing with the Abu Nar for their renowned weapon making skills.
Including the stories in the East India archive that the Spanish conquistador Cortes employed them to craft him a special weapon before betraying them and ordering the entire clan decimated; to prevent any threat to the Spanish monarchy.
However, a small group survived. Contacted by agents of the EITC, they were employed to once again put their lethal skills to use making unnaturally powerful weapons. But the company decided too that the Abu Nar was too dangerous leave members alive. Cleverly, instead of committing wholesale slaughter, the company simply convinced local tribal leaders to ban and hunt down anyone practicing 'magic'.
The Abu Nar Clan serves mostly as background lore.
The game developers had mentioned the name only with the release of Daggers, and Throwing Knives to provide background Lore. It was said the Daggers were brought into the Caribbean by these assassins running rampant. They were said to be from the "Near East", which is reinforced by the clan's name, "Abu Nar".
- The only known member at one point seemed to be Mercer, due to one of the new Throwing Knives being called Mercer's Blades. However that weapon was renamed to "Silver Freeze"
- "Abu Nar" in Arabic translates to "Father of Fire".
- Father of Fire is also translated into Spanish as "Padres Del Fuego".
